Bell X1 - Velcro

Bell X1 are an Irish band from County Kildare. They have released four critically acclaimed albums and received several major award nominations.

Most of the band were originally members of Juniper who formed in 1991. That band met while they were schoolboys. Paul Noonan was Juniper's drummer and Damien Rice was the lead vocalist, guitarists Dominic Philips and Brian Crosby and multi-instrumentalist David Geraghty completed the original line-up. The band became a quartet with the departure of Rice over creative differences and arguments over the choice of song to release as a single.

After a short break they reformed themselves as Bell X1, named after the Bell X-1, the first plane to break the sound barrier. Noonan became the new band's frontman. The band released debut album Neither Am I in 2000. A second and third studio album, Music in Mouth (2003) and Flock (2005) followed respectively before Tour De Flock (a live CD and DVD set) was released in 2007.

This month Bell X-1 will release its newest album Bloodless Coup including lead single Velcro.
