Jamie Woon is a British singer, songwriter and producer who gained widespread acclaim for his single Night Air, following his previous independent EP release, Wayfaring Stranger.
The son of a Malaysian Chinese father and a Scottish Celtic folk singer and backing artist Mae McKenna, was born and raised in New Malden in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Woon attended the BRIT School, where he graduated the year behind Amy Winehouse, whom he later supported live.
His sound and style is presently described as soul inflected vocals backed by samplers and programming, or a single guitar track. He describes his music as "... R&B, it's groove-based vocal-led music ..."
Woon's debut album is entitled Mirrorwriting and was released on 18 April 2011.
